Have you ever felt frustrated by plus-size fashion and the options available to you?

It’s no secret that plus-size women are completely under-served by many brands and retailers. It’s virtually impossible to walk into a shop and pick up a piece of clothing that fits your body, It’s often difficult to buy sustainably and if you want to shop vintage or thrift shops, the plus size selection and sizing is generally very limited.

The Pre-Loved Plus-Size Pop-Up aims to give you more options, to allow you to browse rails full of lovely clothes that actually fit you. We want you to know that you are valued and that you have a right to feel good!

The first Pre-Loved Plus-Size Pop-Up of 2023 is taking place on October 22nd at The Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth, Co. Kildare and we would love to see you there, whether you are a buyer, a seller or a browser.

Location: Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Co. Kildare

Date: Sunday, October 22nd.

Time: 11am - 4pm

 

Have you lots of beautiful clothes sitting in the back of the wardrobe that deserve another twirl? Are you looking for something gorgeous for an upcoming event? If you’ve been threatening to declutter, this is your opportunity to clear space for some new additions.

Information for buyers

  • The event will begin at 11am.

  • All clothing will be ‘Plus-Size’, i.e. size 16 onwards.

  • There will be a selection of sizes, styles, and items on sale.

  • This is a ticketed event and only ticket-holders will be permitted to enter.

  • To cut down on waste, please bring your own bag / bags for any items purchased

  • Some vendors will be operating cash-only stalls, so it may be advisable to have some if you wish to purchase.

  • Setting up Revolut would be an excellent option for electronic payments.

  • There are no fitting rooms on site.

  • If you bring a friend, they must also have a General Admission ticket.

  • The organiser has no control over the size or clothing selection on the day.

  • Customers are responsible for any transactions/purchases made willingly and vendors are responsible for their own stall, belongings, and any / all money exchanged. The organiser cannot be held accountable for any disagreements or discrepancies.

  • Be sound - to each other, to vendors, and to staff.

Information for vendors

  • Setup begins 2 hours prior to the event opening. All vendors must be ready for business by opening time, ie 11am

  • Anything you are selling MUST be plus-size. (16-18 and above)

  • Please ensure the clothes you are selling are in very good/excellent condition.

  • They do not have to be new but everything must be fresh, clean, and, wearable.

  • You will be given some labels on the day of the event to price your stock but feel free to bring your own.

  • Label the item’s size and price clearly to avoid confusion

  • In an attempt to cut down on waste, everyone attending will be encouraged to bring their own bag for items they buy.

  • If you have opted for a clothes rail - it fits approximately 50 hangers. Please bring your own hangers.

  • You may sell any plus-size clothing, activewear, occasion wear, footwear and accessories.

  • Set your prices before the event. Be reasonable and realistic with your pricing strategy.

  • You do not need a ‘Sum Up’ machine. Setting up Revolut would be an excellent option for electronic payments.

  • You may want to bring a full-length mirror for potential buyers.

  • You may not bring your own clothes rail. If you want a rail, you must opt for the ‘Vendor plus clothes rail’ option.

  • If you are going to accept cash payments, you should have enough small change on hand to accommodate cash sales.

  • It would be advisable to bring a friend with you to help you on the day. This will also allow you an opportunity to have a browse!

  • If you do bring a friend, they must have a General Admission ticket.

  • Throughout your time at the event, keep your items organised. This makes it easier to notice if something is out of place.

  • You must take home any items you do not sell.

  • Customers are responsible for any transactions/purchases made willingly and vendors are responsible for their own stall, belongings, and any / all money exchanged. The organiser cannot be held accountable for any disagreements or discrepancies.

  • Vendors must clean up their space after the event.

  • If vendors have to cancel or cannot attend, they will still be responsible for their fee.

  • Be sound - to each other, to customers and to staff.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Great! Just visit the ‘Pricing and Tickets’ tab to find out how you can sign up. There are a couple of options open to you.

    1) Micro-vendor: This is for people who have 1, 2 or 3 items to sell. Items must be submitted by 10am on the morning of the event. They are logged, labeled, and go onto a communal rail, hosted by one of our staff members. You designate a price range and our staff members will attempt to sell your items for you. To avail of this option, you can only sell a maximum of 3 items, you must have Revolut account and if the items you submit don’t sell, you must organise collection at the end of the event. There is only a limited number of micro-vender places available on the day.

    2) Vendor without clothes rail: You will be given a 6 x 3 table where you can display your clothing. This may be best suited to someone selling lots of trousers. footwear and accessories. You can sell as much as you can comfortably fit onto the table.

    3) Vendor with clothes rail included: You will be provided with a 6x3 table and a 6ft clothes rail. In our opinion, this is the best way to display your clothes, to give your lovely pieces the space they deserve and help them to sell.

  • You can register as a micro-vender. This is for people who have 1,2 or 3 items to sell. Items must be submitted by 10am on the morning of the event.   • Amazing! We look forward to having you there. You will need to purchase a ‘General Admission’ ticket, at a cost of 5 euro per person. There is no time limit, come along and browse at your leisure.

  • If you hit the ‘Buy Tickets’ button, it will give you an option to buy your ticket. You can choose the option that is most applicable to you.   • Good question! Yes, there is parking at the Glenroyal Hotel. It is a busy spot so come early to avoid disappointment. There are also a number of paid car parks in Maynooth, near the hotel, as well as limited on-street parking.

  • Maynooth is very well served by public transport, so if you’d rather use the train or the bus, please do. There are a number of Dublin Bus, Bus Eireann and Irish Rail routes that serve the area.

This for is for anyone who wants to attend the event, without selling anything. You can enjoy a leisurely day of browsing and hopefully buying.

Micro-Vendor

Vendor Without Clothes Rail / Vendor With Clothes Rail

Vendor without clothes rail: You will be given a 6 x 3 table where you can display your clothing. This may be best suited to someone selling lots of trousers & footwear. You can sell as much as you can comfortably fit onto the table.
